History

The Corona De Tucson Fire District was established in September 1975 as a volunteer fire department. Our first fire station was built in 1982. This station provided a training ground for the firefighters and a central location to house fire apparatus. In 1985, the Board of Directors voted to hire the district's first full-time and volunteer firefighters. In 2005, after years of growth in the community and proper financial management, the department became a full-time career fire department.

As the community continued to grow, so did the need for more services. In December of 2008, the fire district opened their second fire station. The architectural design of this station yielded a "gold certification" as a green building. It also received a national "Bronze Award" for style and design.

With public safety and customer service top priorities, the Corona de Tucson Fire District will continue to provide superior service to the community and surrounding areas.
